A person that I admire

 Nemesio Antunez

Nemesio Antunez it was a Chilean artist that borned in 1918 and died in 1993. He was an architect, painter and engraver. He founded Taller 99, a very important workshop in the world of engraving in Chile. He also worked on several art and political projects and lived in different parts of the world.

For me, one of the most important things and for which I admire him the most, was for founding Taller 99 in 1956, after returning from Paris and having had the opportunity to meet and work with Stanley William Hayter, from whom he got the idea of founding a collective printmaking workshop.

Nemesio was a very important person in Chilean art, he brought about many meetings and was director of the Fine Arts Museum and also of the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Besides all this, his visual work interests me and I like it very much. I am reading about his life, and he seemed to be a very sympathetic character.

I like how his work is changing through time and the socio-political contexts that existed throughout his life.
I like his engravings, the forms, the oneiric and the visual poetry that is found in some of his works.
